This article covers our integration with QuickBooks "Online." If you need to connect with the traditional desktop version of QuickBooks installed on your computer, see Getting Started with QuickBooks Desktop.
Before you can begin getting started with our QuickBooks integration, you must have Night Audit enabled on your account. There is a one-time $300 setup fee to get Night Audit up and running. Learn more about this here: Night Audit Explained
Step 1. Add the QuickBooks Application to your account
Go to Settings > Marketplace and click on Learn more for QuickBooks Online
Please note that pricing for this integration is $35/month.
Click the green Add application button. You are taken to the QuickBooks online connection page.
Step 2: Connect your accounts
Navigate to Settings > QuickBooks Marketplace and click on QuickBooks Online
Click “Login to QuickBooks Online” and complete the steps to log in to your QuickBooks account in order to link it to your ThinkReservations account.
Once you are connected, your QuickBooks Online page within ThinkReservations will update to show the mapping page.
You will see the Account Name as it appears in ThinkReservations, along with the account type. This is where you'll complete mapping. Simply choose from the dropdown to match the corresponding Account Name as configured in QuickBooks. Every Account Name must be mapped, even if it is an account you don't use or don't plan to use; no data will be pushed to those account types if they're not used. You may need to create or update a new chart of accounts in QuickBooks if you do not see one that best matches.
Once you are finished mapping, click Save.
Please note: During mapping, ThinkReservations currently does not support Accounts Receivable. You will want to create an "other asset" account in QuickBooks instead to map your AR accounts for the following:
- Accounts Receivable
- Guest Ledger
Please ensure that an Other Asset account is mapped to Accounts Receivable and Guest Ledger for the integration to work.
Your setup is now complete! The corresponding entries will be created in your QuickBooks Online account the next time you run the Night Audit.
