Managing your gift shop in ThinkReservations is easy. To start, make sure that all of your settings in ThinkReservations are configured properly. Let's go over them together.
Create "Revenue Accounts" to bucket your sale items into groups for reports.
Click Chart of Accounts under "Business Configuration" in Settings.
All of your existing accounts are listed.
Click the New button at the top right.
Enter a name for the new account.
Repeat the process for each account you wish to create. You likely will want to create revenue accounts that match existing revenue accounts in your accounting software.
Optional: Create "Item Categories." Creating Item Categories can help with managing large numbers of items.
Click Item Categories under "Business Configuration" in Settings.
Click the New button at the top right.
Enter a name for the new Item Category
Repeat the process for each Item Category you wish to create. We recommend placing every item into an Item Category if you're going to use this optional feature so that nothing falls through the cracks.
Important: Once you have assigned Item Categories, you will select the category first, and then the Item, when adding items to a bill or reservation.
Add gift shop offerings into ThinkReservations.
Click Items under "Business Configuration" in Settings.
Click New Item at the top right of your list of existing items to create a new item.
Enter the details for the item. Be sure to include a Name, Price, and appropriate taxes, at least. Here you can also assign an item to a Revenue Account and an Item Category, if applicable.
If you wish to also sell this item online, Check the Upsell box and fill out the rest of the form.
When you are done, click the Save button at the bottom.
Repeat these steps for all the items that you would like to sell.
When you are ready to sell Items, you can add them to a Guest's existing bill by clicking the ADD plus sign button under the room.
If the customer doesn't have a room, you can create a new blank invoice. To create a new blank invoice, Click the ThinkReservations menu and then choose "New Bill...".

Create Packages (Optional)
If you have one or more "packages" that are collections of two or more items, you can create a package.
Pro Tip: Creating a package allows the items inside the package to be taxed differently and belong to different revenue accounts.
Navigate to Settings > Packages
Create a new package, similar to creating a new item.
Add the items that already exist in the system to build the package.
Save your new package.
Sort Items/Packages
If you would like to change the sort order of your upsellable packages and items (as they display to guests in your Booking Engine and Upsell Portal, follow these simple steps:
Navigate to Settings > Upsell Configuration.
Click an item to select it in the list.
Use the Up and Down buttons to reorder the item.
Repeat for any other Items or Packages that are currently upsold that need moved around.
Click the Save button when done.
