This article will explain how you can customize the notification sound on your device for your ThinkMessenger texts.
1. For Push notifications on Android
Make sure that before you try to set the tone, you have received at least one push notification from ThinkMessenger on this device. The following steps won't work if you haven't.
1) Navigate to your phone Settings and click on Apps, then Your Apps.
2) Scroll down to find the ThinkMessenger app and select it.
3) Tap Notification and toggle on the slider button for Show notifications.
4) You can view several notification categories under the Other section on the Notifications page specific to each app, such as General or device-level notifications. Choose the appropriate category and select Alert.
5) On the Notification category page, scroll down to the Sound section. It shows the default tone enabled for the app. Tap Sound and select your desired notification tone from the list to change the presets.
2. Push Notifications on iPhone / iOS
iOS 16.4 and beyond support a push notification to your iOS device. iOS 16.6 and beyond support a sound and vibrate with this notification. It's not possible to change the sound effect that plays at this time. Notifications are enabled by default when you add the app to your device. You can manage the notification settings in your iOS device > Settings > Notifications > Scroll down to Think and tap it. See the below image for reference:
Tip: If you are not getting the sound, and you previously used ThinkReservations as a PWA on your device, you will need to delete the bookmark and re-add it.
3. For Text Notifications on iPhone / iOS
You can receive a text message notification when a guest messages you. The notification is to alert you to check ThinkMessenger. This is set up in User Notifications. This is a great option for clients with older iPhones that are not able to update to at least 16.6.
This notification text can have a unique sound. Create a new contact on your iPhone under the phone number you have attached to ThinkMessenger - we suggest naming it "ThinkMessenger" (or if you already have it saved as a contact, open that contact up). Once looking at the contact on your phone, click Edit in the top right. Scroll down and click on Text Tone. Choose your custom sound and then click Done at top right to save!
