Once you have your email template and target segment ready, you're set to launch your campaign. A One-time Email Marketing Campaign is one to three emails sent to a specific segment of your customer database, making it easy to reach the right customers at the right time.
To access Email Marketing, you must have an active ThinkMarketing subscription for your account. See here for more on getting started.
To create a new one-time campaign, navigate to Email Marketing from the main menu, and click the link for "One-time" from the list. On the "One-Time Email Marketing Campaigns" page, click the New button on the top right.
Please note: Make sure that you create your segment first. See here for more on that.
Campaign Name: This is the name of your campaign; it's for internal use only.
Campaign Status
DRAFT - The status of a new campaign will be "Draft".
RUNNING - An active campaign will show a status of "Running".
PAUSED - An active campaign that is currently "paused".
COMPLETED - Once a campaign has finished sending all emails, its status will be "Completed."
Pause or Resume
You can easily pause and resume an active campaign.
Pause an active campaign by clicking the Pause button. It will automatically change the status to Paused.
Resume a paused campaign by clicking the Resume button.
Select Email Template
Click the "Edit Design" button to select and apply a template. A popup will display allowing to select either a blank template to start from scratch, or to select one of your existing templates.
Select the template from the list, and click Next on the bottom right of the popup.
Edit Email Template
Give the email a subject line at the top.
Edit the email template using the smart editor as needed. Changes made here will only affect this email, and not the template.
If you wish to select a different template, click the Change Template button on the top right of the popup.
Check your work carefully.
Preview the design in Desktop and Mobile using the buttons at the top of the editor.
Select "Audit" and ensure there is nothing pending for you to review, such as Alt text to maintain ADA conformance.
When you are done, click "Apply Design".
If you need to make further changes to your email, click on the preview of the email. When you hover your mouse over the preview image, you will see the "Edit Design" button.
Schedule or Send
You can decide to send the campaign as soon as you click the green Start button, or schedule it for later. Scheduling allows you to set up your email to go out on a specific date and time in the future.
Pro Tip: Tuesdays and Wednesdays tend to have higher open rates since people are settled into their routine without the overwhelm of Mondays or the weekend mindset of Fridays.
The best times are morning (7 to 10 AM) for those checking their email first thing in the morning or in the evening (6 - 9 PM) looking for deals after work.
Select Segment
Select the segment that this email needs to go to. Click "Choose segment..." and select an existing segment from the list.
Create a Drip Campaign - Add an email
You can send up to three emails in one campaign. This is called a "drip campaign".
Schedule the email based on the previous email. You can select the time and the number of days after the last email was sent.
Your options are:
Send to all valid recipients of the previous email
Send only to recipients who DID open the previous email
Send only to recipients who DID NOT open the previous email
Send the Email Campaign
Click the green Start button to activate the campaign. If you have "Send when campaign starts" selected, it will attempt to send the [first] email right away.
If you have selected a future date and time, you can adjust it until the system triggers the campaign to send.
Review Data
Once emails have started to go out, you can review the campaign and view data to track its effectiveness. This data is seen inside the campaign after it has been started. We will track the following for you:
