Dates may appear gray or unavailable on the Reservation Calendar for several reasons. The calendar now displays labels to help explain why a room/date is unavailable, such as No Rates, Stop Sell, Linked Room, or Blackout.
First, check the selected Rate Type
The Reservation Calendar shows rates, restrictions, and some unavailable-date labels based on the Rate Type selected at the top left of the calendar.
If a room/date shows Stop Sell or No Rates, it may mean the selected Rate Type does not have pricing for that room/date. Another Rate Type may still have pricing.
What the labels mean
Label | What it means | What to check |
No Rates | The selected Rate Type does not have pricing for that room/date yet. | Check the Rate Type dropdown or add/copy rates for the Rate Type |
Stop Sell | The selected Rate Type has been intentionally made unavailable. | Check Rates & Restrictions of the rate for a red 'XX'. |
Linked Room | The room is unavailable because of a linked room being unavailable. | Check the linked room, Jack-and-Jill setup, or hotel buyout option. |
Custom label with a solid black bar | The room/date is unavailable across all Rate Types | Click on the blackout to manage it. |
What it looks like on the calendar:
Linked Rooms
A Linked Room may be unavailable because of something affecting one or more of the rooms linked to it.
This could be related to the selected Rate Type, such as:
No Rates
Stop Sell
Or it could be related to the room itself, such as:
a Blackout
an existing reservation
In other words, a Linked Room may be unavailable because of a rate-type-specific issue or because one of the linked rooms is already unavailable.
What Changed?
Previously, unavailable dates appeared as plain gray bars. Now, the calendar displays labels to explain why the room/date is unavailable.
Before: Gray bars showed that a room/date was unavailable, but not why. They were also often confused with blackouts.
Now: Labels explain whether the issue is related to missing pricing, Stop Sell, a linked room, or a blackout.
