Cancellations through ThinkTravel

An overview of how guests can cancel bookings through ThinkTravel on your ThinkWeb website, after you have configured Cancellation Policies in your ThinkReservations PMS.

Updated this week

If you haven't already configured Cancellation Policies and applied them to your rate types, you'll need to start here: Configuring Cancellation Policies

Once the above is complete, your guests will be able to cancel their own reservation on your website through ThinkTravel if they create an account. Below is an example of what this looks like to the customer.

The guest will login to ThinkTravel on your website and then click their name and choose "My Reservations"

They will be shown a list of their upcoming, current, and past reservations. They can then click "Cancel reservation".

One of two things will happen now. If the reservation was made using a rate type with no Cancellation Policy configured for it, the guest will be told to call the hotel. If the reservation was booked with a configured policy, however, they will be prompted with a modal like the one below which depicts the reservations details as well as the Cancellation Fee. In the example below, this fee is $50.

Once they click Cancel Reservation to confirm, they will see the resulting invoice displaying their fee and updated balance.
